Relaxation and breath work therapy
Combining breath-work and meditation, these sessions are designed to be deeply relaxing and cathartic. Conscious breathing and meditation have been proven to be extremely beneficial for combating stress by lowering cortisol and calming the nervous system. Breath-work can also lower blood pressure and boost mood by soothing the fight or flight response. Amazingly, it can, when practiced regularly, reduce levels of inflammation and pain and also help with sleep.
Connection to our true selves through breath-work and meditation is a powerful self-care practice, which can lead to the ability and understanding of how to work with our body, rather than against it.
As a meditation teacher, using breath-work with clients and in my own daily practice, I have seen transformative results when regularly practiced. I have curated these sessions to be tailored to different modern day challenges. I’ve coupled the practices of breath-work and meditation with aromatherapy as an additional healing and soothing modality.
I gently guide you through your session, allowing you the space to explore your breath, your body and your emotions. The experience of these sessions is tender and flowing whilst you lie on a warm therapy bed, cocooned and safe to just be. Towards the end of the session you are invited to enjoy a scalp massage with essential oils to gently bring you back in to the room and an awakened state. After the session you will have some information and exercises to take away, so you can practice more at home (together with an essential oil blend matched to your session).
Session Themes to Choose From
Finding Joy – Sometimes we lose our get up and go and feel generally flat in our daily life. This session is designed to produce uplifting feelings, by uncoiling the nervous system and raising energy levels. The meditation in this session is pure, joyous escapism and includes a ‘Sankalpa’ which is a heart desire or resolve on experiencing joy everywhere you turn.
Finding your Natural State of Balance – If you feel you have been pulled in all directions and are struggling to equalise your thoughts, emotions and sensations this session will help you do that. We will practice a deep release breath and through the Yoga Nidra (deep relaxation) we will explore finding balance in the body and emotional mind.
Retreat in to You – An escape from the busyness of life, this session focuses on connection with self, through Yoga Nidra (deeprelaxation meditation) and a breathing technique that will explore rooting and grounding in to the self. The meditation will take you on a journey through your chakras, your physical body, mind and energy body.
A Practice for Self Love – With regular practice, the calming breath (Ujjayi or ‘ocean breath’) we practice in this session can help release feeling stuck in old practices and thought patterns. The Yoga Nidra (deep relaxation meditation) will use visualisation, suggestion and breath awareness to start to recognise the true essence of self in all its beautiful glory.
About the Session
The session will last around 55 minutes and you will be lying on a heated therapy bed, under a blanket. I have bolsters to pop under your knees if it makes it more comfortable for you. There is an option for a short scalp massage with essential oils to complete the session. The therapy cost includes an essential oil blend to take away and some helpful tips for the breath-work exercises you will have practiced in your session.
